Right On Schedule!

Our first ever writer launch podcast is nearly ready to post on April 4th! Though we have already recorded Episodes 1, 2, and 5, we have yet to embed them into the internet. Should be a piece of cake though! Episode 3 is a live podcast with Linda Mulleneaux, as every third week we will be doing live interviews. Every fourth week is also rather exciting, because we will be selecting novels to critique and/or read excerpts from on our podcast. We're going to start with two of our own novels, Identity and No Angel for Episode 4.  We will be contacting authors and obtaining permission and their preferred passages before our second round of Author Readings on May 23rd. The 5th Wednesday Critiques are selections of writing where we will walk you through real manuscripts while you follow along with the original selection posted on this blog for that particular episode. Every week, each episode will have a writer tip and a writer challenge for the week to help inspire you to write! We look forward to hearing from you and thanks for joining us!

  1. I've never done a podcast, but I'd love to be interviewed! May or June, maybe? Let me know.

    1. Everything is filling up fast, Angie! Our next live interview is in November - would you like me to schedule you for that? Or would you like to do an Author Reading or WIP Critique instead? In fact, just in case, I'll pencil you in for November, but if you'd prefer something (a reading or critique) a lot sooner - let me know!

    2. I was thinking that because your sci-fi is brand new - how about an Author Reading on May 23rd? You could tell us the passage you want us to read and discuss plus we'll have a "cheat sheet" of interesting tidbits about you, which of course includes the purchase links and addresses of your blog(s) and/or website ... let me know, and I'll change the Nov. interview to a May reading! ;) Btw~ all podcasts will be transcribed and posted on our blog too for easy access anytime.

    3. Yes! Sign me up for the author reading on the 23rd. That would be great. If you still want to interview me in November, I'm willing to do that too. Thanks!

    1. Great! I made a mistake on the schedule though, could you take a second look and pick a date/theme that isn't X'd out or hasn't already been taken? Thanks!

    1. Thanks Liz! I put you down for Sept. 26 -an Author Reading! Now if you will select a five minute passage out of one of your books and send it to us privately say in August along with the answers to a few questions and tidbits about you for us to share with our listeners (we'll supply the questions for you) then we'll be all set to read & discuss your awesome passage and you on Sept. 26!

    1. Hi Sherry! We have two slots, but I'm waiting to hear back from Lisa Mangum, editor at Deseret Book, before I give them away - the one in November is crazy timing, because it's the day before Thanksgiving! And the one in December is right at the height of holiday madness! So, whichever one she doesn't choose, you may have for a live interview, if you'd like ... do you want me to hold that open for you while we wait to hear back from Lisa?

    2. Okay - I heard back from Lisa Mangum and she's going to take the spot in November - we've decided to bump up both the Nov. and Dec. live podcast to the second week instead of the third week to lessen the holiday stress around that time. So your date will be the second week in Dec and not the original third week. The date for your live podcast is Dec 12 at 5:00. Let me know if this will work for you - thanks! :)

  9. I'd love to do either an interview or a reading. Are you still taking authors? Let me know the date. (July is a little wild, sumo book launching.) Can I do it after July?

    1. How about an Author Read that will air on Aug. 22? You pick a five minute passage in your book that we can read and discuss along with a mini-interview that we'll have you fill out - things you'd want your readers to know about you, etc. We'll post your purchase links, etc. too! Great advertising, huh? I'll "pencil" you in for the 22nd of August, but if you'd rather a different day, just let me know!

    1. Sounds great! I'm going to put you on May 23 with Angie Lofthouse - you will both need a five minute passage for us to read and the answers to a short "getting to know the author" questionnaire. We will prerecord that episode sometime in early April, so I'll get that questionnaire to you soon!

    2. Thanks for the opportunity! Let me know.

    Thanks,
